I want to thank our entire campus community for your patience, hard work and dedication to helping create and maintain a healthy educational environment for our students and a healthy workplace for our employees. The case positivity rate on campus has dropped significantly. This week, staffing levels for many of our student services have returned to normal. With lower transmission and more staff reporting to work, we are able to move to a less restrictive level of our campus safety protocols beginning on Tuesday, February 8.
Indoor Dining Resumes
Indoor dining will resume at all HDH dining facilities, Price Center, University Centers and the Faculty Club beginning on Tuesday, February 8. Both indoor and outdoor seating options will be available.
Phase II Undergraduate Residential Protocols
Undergraduate students living in campus-operated housing will be permitted to return to Phase II on Tuesday, February 8. Phase II allows individuals to be unmasked inside their residential suite. Students are to continue all safety protocols outside the suite, including masking. Students required to mask due to quarantine or isolation restrictions must mask in their residential units. Similarly, students with symptoms pending PCR test results should wear masks in their residential units.
Boosters and Continued Vigilance
Booster vaccinations are a key component of the health and safety of our campus community. We encourage everyone to get vaccinated and boosted as soon as possible in order to continue to maintain the safest learning and working environment possible.
We must continue the practices that we know help keep our campus community safe. Regardless of vaccination status, everyone on-site at UC San Diego or affiliated workspaces must continue to adhere to UC San Diego’s standards for safety, including masking.
