Updates from Human Resources | |
There are a number of great opportunities coming up this month to celebrate and engage with our vibrant, diverse campus community. February is Black History Month and this year’s theme is “Black Health and Wellness: UC San Diego Honors Medical Pioneers and Community Healers.” I encourage you to peruse the calendar of virtual and in-person events, including film screenings, lectures with luminaries and experts, and more.
We also have our 27th Annual Inclusive Excellence Awards ceremony coming up next week on Tuesday, February 15 at 2 p.m. This annual awards program recognizes faculty, staff, students, departments, and organizations for their leadership in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion at UC San Diego. All members of the UC San Diego community are invited to join us for our virtual ceremony as we celebrate our recipients. View the list of recipients of this year’s Inclusive Excellence Awards and register to attend the ceremony.

Return to Learn Updates
Requirements for Returning to On-Site Work: As UC San Diego employees continue to return to campus, please be aware of the following requirements for on-site work. For more details, review the On-Campus Checklist on the Return to Learn website.
| |
- Get Tested on Your First Day Back: All employees, regardless of vaccination status, must complete a COVID-19 PCR test on the day they return to on-site work via vending machine or by appointment at a drive-thru site or at the Price Center clinic, unless they have had COVID-19 in the last 90 days.
- Complete the Daily Symptom and Exposure Screening: All UC San Diego staff, faculty and student employees who are reporting to campus or any other physical UC San Diego location for work must conduct a self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure. For employees who are working remotely, self-screening is strongly encouraged.
- Review the Supervisor Compliance Dashboard: If you directly supervise employees or volunteers, be sure to check the COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate Compliance Dashboard daily to ensure compliance with the University of California COVID-19 Policy. The dashboard does not contain any medical information, but rather indicates whether an individual is Compliant, Compliant with potential additional requirements or Not Compliant.
| |
COVID-19 Booster Requirement: The deadline for campus community members to get a COVID-19 booster was January 31, 2022. Those who are not yet eligible for a booster will need to receive a booster no later than two weeks after they become eligible. Booster shot appointments remain available at the Price Center as well as through drive-up appointments at Hillcrest and La Jolla vaccination sites. Review eligibility and schedule a booster appointment. For guidance in uploading your booster information, review the COVID-19 Vaccination Documentation Process. We expect to send communications to those out of compliance soon.
Pick Up a Free KN95 Mask: Campus employees can pick up a free KN95 mask at two locations in the Price Center. Masks can be picked up during building hours, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Locations include:
