CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Mandeville Art Gallery Renovation – Start of Construction
Project Purpose
The project will renovate the Mandeville Art Gallery interior to provide updated infrastructure and maximum flexibility for future exhibits. Two existing restrooms will receive new finishes and fixtures and be updated to meet accessibility and gender-neutral signage requirements. A new exterior canopy structure will be provided on Ridge Walk that will support media mesh, exterior lighting, building signage and serve as an outside pre-function space for gallery events.  

Location and Duration
The project will impact the Mandeville Art Gallery, mechanical room B100 below the gallery and restrooms 105 & 107 located behind the elevator in the Mandeville Center. Construction will begin on February 17, 2022 and will be completed at the end of December 2022.  

Immediate Pedestrian Impacts
  • The Mandeville Art Gallery will be closed for the duration of the project.
  • The two restrooms on the first floor of the Mandeville Center will be closed from March 1, 2022 until July 1, 2022.
  • An area of Ridge Walk directly in front of the Mandeville Art Gallery entry will be fenced in during construction. Pedestrian and fire truck access along Ridge Walk will be maintained.
  • Additional trash dumpsters and temporary toilets will be located on the west wall of the Mandeville Center loading dock.
Please observe all temporary traffic controls and crewmember instructions. Please reduce speeds and allow extra space when traveling adjacent to construction activity. See a map of the affected area.
