I am pleased to inform you of a 4.5% general salary increase for policy-covered (non-represented) staff employees and a 4% salary increase for policy-covered (non-represented) academic appointees at UC San Diego, including the health system, as identified in the Office of the President’s (UCOP) 2022-2023 Salary Program.
Please Note: This salary program is contingent upon the 5 percent allocation currently in the State budget and is subject to change. While UCOP does not anticipate a change, in the event the current budget expectations are altered, President Drake will provide an updated announcement at that time.
The salary increase for policy-covered (non-represented) staff will be effective July 1, 2022, for monthly and June 26, 2022, for bi-weekly paid employees. The increase will appear on the July 20, 2022, paycheck for employees paid bi-weekly and on the August 1, 2022, paycheck for employees paid monthly. The adjustment to the academic salary scales will be effective October 1, 2022, for policy-covered faculty and students and July 1, 2022, for other policy-covered academic appointees.
Staff increases will be implemented centrally by the Campus Human Resources Office in July 2022. Generally, eligible staff will be those hired on or before January 3, 2022, into a career or contract position with an appointment at 50% or more. An employee's most recent performance rating must be satisfactory/solid/effective performance or better. In the coming weeks, full eligibility requirements for staff will be posted and fiscal contacts for staff will receive additional distribution details. Implementation details for academic appointees from Executive Vice Chancellor Elizabeth Simmons is forthcoming.
