Call for Dependent Care Travel Grant Applications for Summer 2022
The Dependent Care Travel Grant program (DCTG) has been approved to continue through Summer 2022 for eligible Senate Faculty who incur dependent care expenses related to research-related domestic travel or essential international travel.
As long as funds remain available, applications for summer 2022 will be accepted through June 30, 2022 for travel during the period of June 11, 2022 through September 16, 2022. Senate Faculty members who have not already received a Dependent Care Travel Grant for the 2021-2022 academic year are eligible for a summer DCTG.
DCTG funds may be used to offset eligible dependent care expenses at an alternate location, such as a hotel or research site, or for dependent care at home while the faculty member is traveling. Senate Faculty members may receive up to one EVC-funded dependent care travel grant per fiscal year, not exceeding $2,500 total.
Please note, current COVID-19 DCTG provisions allowing Senate Faculty to request a quarterly $600 DCTG to support dependent care needs originating from faculty teaching responsibilities or from participation in professional conferences, even if remote, are not applicable in the summer.
Restrictions on eligible expenses and caretakers still apply. Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis, by date of receipt. Early application is encouraged. See Dependent Care Travel Grant Guidelines for more details.
If you have any questions concerning the DCTG program, please contact Gabriel Lopez, Director of Policy & Family Programs, at gal037@ucsd.edu.
