Timely Warning – Arson

On June 12, 2022 at 9:28 am, the UC San Diego Police Department received a report of an arson that occurred at the Leichtag Biomedical Research Building at approximately the same time.  Officers arrived on scene and met staff at the building who found and extinguished a small fire in the loading dock. There are no reported injuries and there is no suspect description at this time.
 
The suspect has not been apprehended and the investigation is on-going.

  • Report suspicious activity (including the use of open flame) on and around the open lands, hillsides, canyons and trails anywhere on campus or in the SIO area to the UC San Diego Police Department immediately by calling 9-1-1.
  • Call the UC San Diego Police Department if you become aware of someone talking about or planning an arson.
