CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Central Utilities Plant Expansion, Chiller Plant Addition: One Lane Closure Revelle College Drive
Project Purpose As part of a central utilities plant expansion, a new chiller plant is being constructed to provide additional efficient, water-based cooling capacity throughout the campus. The chiller plant is powered by carbon-free electric power and will include two chillers, two cooling towers, associated pumps, piping and all required electrical distribution systems.
Starting on June 27, 2022, a new underground storm drain line, sewer line, water line and electrical and telecom ductbank will be installed and tied to the existing storm drain, sewer, water, electrical and telecom underground systems.
Location and Duration The work will start on Monday, June 27, 2022, near the intersection of York Lane and Revelle College Drive. It will continue through Friday September 16, 2022, with work hours from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Immediate Pedestrian/Vehicular Impacts One lane of Revelle College Drive will remain open at all times with flaggers to direct traffic. Please follow signage and allow extra time while traveling on Revelle College Drive. Access to parking lot P106 and the pedestrian path on the south side of Revelle College Drive will be maintained.
Please observe all temporary traffic controls and crewmember instructions. Please reduce speeds and allow extra space when traveling adjacent to construction activity. See a map of the affected area.
