Commencement Road and Parking Impacts, Wednesday, June 8 through Monday, June 13, 2022
| |
UC San Diego will host commencement ceremonies this weekend, starting Friday afternoon, June 10, with the Class of 2022 Ceremonial Commencement from 4-6 p.m.
All Campus Commencement will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, with individual college and school ceremonies to follow throughout the weekend.
Commencement preparation and ceremonies will coincide with residence hall move out, resulting in significant changes to campus circulation and parking. Access routes to campus, parking lots and structures may be intermittently closed due to traffic or event control. Vehicles parked in closed areas will be allowed to leave; attendants will direct drivers to specific exits and re-entry may be denied.
Road and parking lot closures noted below are subject to change based on attendance and traffic conditions.
GENERAL TRAFFIC ADVISORY:
UC San Diego community members planning to be on campus Saturday, June 11, or Sunday, June 12, but not attending the ceremonies, should enter campus from Gilman Drive or Villa La Jolla Drive to avoid traffic revisions.
If you are attending a ceremony, plan to arrive one to two hours prior before your ceremony begins to allow ample time to park and walk, or shuttle where offered, to RIMAC Field or RIMAC Arena. Allow for one to two hours to depart campus due to heavy traffic. Please follow all event signage and directions of traffic management staff for access to the best available parking or drop-off locations.
Parking will be extremely limited. We urge all commencement attendees to carpool, ride-share or use public transportation. Special shuttle service (masks required) will operate throughout the weekend between the UC San Diego Blue Line Central Campus Station and Hopkins Lane (near RIMAC/RIMAC Field). To learn more about transportation options, visit Commencement Transportation and Security.
