$3.05 Billion Raised as Campaign for UC San Diego Concludes
I am pleased to announce that we have reached the conclusion of our historic Campaign for UC San Diego, raising a total of $3.05 billion thanks to our generous supporters. UC San Diego exceeded its initial fundraising goal of $2 billion by an impressive $1 billion, becoming the youngest university in the nation to reach a multibillion-dollar fundraising goal in a single campaign.
More than 163,000 donors designated their gifts to over 450 areas on campus. Their gifts of all sizes have spurred a significant campus transformation, increased access with scholarships and fellowships for our students, fueled leading-edge medical advancements and expanded the university’s positive global impact with research that is addressing some of the world’s most pressing concerns.
This kind of accomplishment is not possible just anywhere: it requires UC San Diego’s highly collaborative environment and our unique mix of passionate, talented and diverse people. It takes all of you and your stellar efforts to reach such an impressive milestone, which ultimately, is making a positive impact locally and around the globe.
