Resumption of Phone Callback Retirements for Duo Two-Step Login
On January 17, 2023, UC San Diego will continue the process of progressively retiring the phone callback option for Duo two-step login.
The following users will have the phone callback option retired on January 17: students with last names beginning A-G who received a Duo phone call in the six months leading up to November 2022. Impacted users will receive direct emails with more information on actions they can take to prepare. These actions are also viewable online at twostep.ucsd.edu.
Remaining academic employees, staff, and students who have not had the phone callback service retired for them yet will also receive direct communications as their date approaches. The service will be retired for all users by the end of Winter Quarter 2023. So far, more than 100,000 users have had the phone callback service retired.
Exceptions We will allow a limited number of exceptions for users who require the phone callback option when a disability prevents the use of another authentication method. Please contact the Service Desk to make a request (see below for contact options). Please do not include any medical or disability-related information in the request.
