Following more than 34 years of exemplary dedication to UC San Diego, Campus Human Resources Senior Director of Talent Solutions Kim Ayoub will be retiring from UC San Diego on January 4, 2024. Her last working day will be October 27, 2023.
Ayoub began her trajectory with UC San Diego more than three decades ago as a UC San Diego student. Upon graduation, she worked as a temporary employee through Temporary Employment Services (TES), and went on to accept a career position in TES. She has held many pivotal responsibilities throughout her tenure, including managing and growing the TES operation, leading Executive Recruitment Services, creating Sourcing as a Service, and overseeing the Fund Manager Career Pool.
Ayoub also introduced and implemented LiveScan Background Check Services to UC San Diego, providing background checks for internal campus departments and external customers within the San Diego community.
Some of her most significant contributions include the broad expansion of our Temporary Employment Service, which under her stewardship grew to become an essential facet of our university's talent acquisition strategy. This included building a talent pipeline for a diverse pool of TES employees to enhance their experience and transition into career positions at UC San Diego. In addition, Ayoub developed the Fund Manager Career Pool to address the high vacancy rates the university was experiencing for those positions.
In her most recent role as Senior Director of Talent Solutions reporting to Campus Chief Human Resources Officer Terri Winbush, Ayoub was instrumental in developing comprehensive talent strategies that support our efforts to continually attract and retain the most qualified candidates for a diverse and robust range of positions across multiple areas, including staff research administration, information technology, finance and accounting, and executive and management.
Her impact extends past our own institution, providing executive recruitment services and support across the UC System and to external clientele.
Ayoub’s tenure with UC San Diego has been marked by her compassionate leadership and unwavering dedication. Her contributions to UC San Diego will leave an indelible mark for years to come, not just for the Triton community, but for the community at large.
A national search is currently underway to fill this vital position. Join me in congratulating Ayoub as she embarks on this new, exciting chapter.
