The U.S. Department of State issued a Worldwide Caution notice on October 20, 2023 advising U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution due to the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations or violent actions against U.S. citizens.

UC San Diego students and international faculty and scholars who have concerns or questions about the World Wide Caution should review the Tritons Impacted by Events Abroad for resources and support. While the travel advisory is specific to U.S. citizens, it is applicable to non-US citizens, who are also encouraged to consult travel information and advisories available through their governments.
Ensure your official UC San Diego business travel is Registered in UC’s travel insurance database. Note that international travel booked through the UC managed travel program, Concur, or directly with Balboa Travel or Kahala Travel, automatically provides travel insurance, trip registration and alerts from Crisis 24 Worldcue. Otherwise, please register your UC business trip via UC Away. This notifies Risk Management of your location and ensures you receive travel alerts from Crisis24.
