Timely Warning – Arson

On November 10, 2023, at 12:43 p.m., the UC San Diego Police Department received a fire alarm activation at Mesa Nueva Housing. Upon arrival, officers found burnt material next to the trash chute that had already been extinguished.

There is no suspect information at this time.
The report is currently under investigation by the UC San Diego Police Department.

Report suspicious activity (including the use of open flame) on and around the open lands, hillsides, canyons and trails anywhere on campus or in the SIO area to the UC San Diego Police Department immediately by calling 9-1-1.
Call the UC San Diego Police Department if you become aware of someone talking about or planning an arson.
