We are pleased to announce the release of the “Where CAP Stood, 2022-2023” report which serves as a comprehensive summary of the key issues and topics that engaged the Committee on Academic Personnel (CAP) during the academic year 2022-2023. The goal of the report is to provide an accounting of CAP’s standards and practices, identify problematic file preparation areas, and promote a better understanding of the rationale behind CAP recommendations. CAP has consistently shared this annual report on its website for more than a decade and before that, copies were disseminated via hard copy, establishing a tradition of transparency and accountability in CAP’s decision-making processes.
We trust that this publication will be of particular interest and utility to department chairs, faculty members, and staff who are actively engaged in the academic review process. CAP hopes that the report will provide valuable insights that will aid in the preparation of future files.
