Phishing Alert: Fraudulent UCPath Center Email
Recently, a fraudulent message with the subject “Update Your UCPath Account” targeted the UC San Diego community and other University of California employees. In this phishing scam, an email falsely claiming to be from UCPath asks employees to update their UCPath accounts.
Phishing Email Details
  • The email appears to have been sent by “UCPath Center” and notifies recipients of a mandatory account update. 
  • It includes a link to a fake login page that closely resembles the official UCPath interface.
  • The goal of this scam is to trick you into providing your personal information and obtain your UCPath login credentials or other valuable information.
  • This email did not come from UCPath or UC San Diego.

Immediate actions needed to ensure the security of your information:
  • If you received an email as described, do not open the email, click any links, or open attachments. Responding may put your information and the university's information and systems at risk.
  • Forward the email to abuse@ucsd.edu and delete the email.
  • If you have already responded to the message and supplied your personal information, or something else of value, please notify security@ucsd.edu.
