Resource Management & Planning Holiday Schedule

During the holiday season, the UC San Diego campus (excluding the hospitals and clinics) will officially be closed Dec. 25, 2023 through Jan. 2, 2024. Resource Management and Planning (RMP) divisions and operations that will be closed during this period include:
- Vice Chancellor, Resource Management & Planning – Administration and Finance
- Bookstore
- Campus Planning
- Early Childhood Education Center
- Triton Print & Digital Media (Imprints)
- Policy & Records Administration
- Sustainability Resource Center
- Lost & Found
The following RMP units will have minimal staffing and limited services from Dec. 25, 2023, through Jan. 2, 2024.
- Capital Program Management
The physical offices will be open on Dec. 27 and 28. Construction project sites will remain open and operational, with CPM management and inspection staff on site as normal. Staff not on vacation will be working remotely as needed to support their projects and clients. Please contact them directly or through the main telephone line at (858) 534-2177.
- Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S)
For EH&S related emergencies, contact 9-1-1 or (858) 534-4357 (HELP) and a campus dispatcher will summon EH&S responders. For EH&S limited services during the campus closure period, contact (858) 534-3660 and your call will be referred to an appropriate team member for follow-up.
For Emergency Operation Center (EOC) issues, please email eoc@ucsd.edu and an EOC specialist will follow-up.
- Facilities Management (FM)
All building exterior restrooms and entrances will be secured. For employees who are authorized to be on campus, please note that building interior restrooms will remain unlocked for use during the break.
FM will provide adequate staff to cover campus emergencies, to support critical research, and to perform special projects that can only be handled during low-occupancy levels. For emergency services, please contact the Central Utilities Plant at (858) 534-3250 or 3251 and your call will be referred to an appropriate team member for response.
- Fleet Services
Fleet Services will be closed during the campus closure, but will have staff available for emergency response or services. For urgent or emergency fleet service, please call (858) 245-5340.
- Parking
The virtual parking office will close at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, and reopen at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 3, 2024. Staff will be responding to email between 7 a.m. and noon, Dec. 27-29, 2023.
Permit display is not required on UC San Diego holidays or the days on which those holidays are observed (Dec. 23-26 and 30-31, 2023 and Jan. 1-2, 2024). Regulations that affect safety and access (e.g., disability parking, fire lanes, loading zones and reserved parking) remain in effect.
Parking officers will be enforcing paid parking from Dec. 27-29, 2023 to ensure access for patients, visitors and individuals with accessible parking being their highest priority. A, B, S and D permits will be interchangeable on these days. D permits are available for $4.25/day via ParkMobile zone 4762.
- Triton Transit
Triton Transit will be running a reduced schedule beginning Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023. Triton Transit does not operate on UC San Diego holidays or the days on which those holidays are observed (Dec. 25 and 26, 2023, and Jan. 1 and 2, 2024). Triton Transit services will not operate on Dec. 24, 30, or 31, 2023.
Weekday Service Summary Effective December 18-22, 2023: Hillcrest Express and Health Campus Connector routes will operate regular weekday schedules (available here).
The following routes will be operating on 30-minute frequencies and reduced service hours:The following routes will not be in service:
- Regents Express
- Outside Loop
Mobility (ADA) service will be available weekdays from 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m. On-Demand service will be available from 6-10 p.m.
Effective December 27-29, 2023: Hillcrest Express and Health Campus Connector routes will operate regular weekday schedules (available here).
Mesa South will operate on 30-minute frequencies from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
No other fixed-route services will be operated.
Mobility and On-Demand service will be available from 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
Mobility (ADA) and On-Demand service will be available by calling (858) 534-7422 to request pick-ups.
Weekend Service Summary Effective December 17 and 23, 2023: Weekend routes will operate on reduced frequencies. Hours of availability will remain the same (10 a.m.-6 p.m.).
- Grocery Convoy (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) – 60-minute frequency
- Inside Loop (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) – 30-minute frequency
- SIO (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) – 30-minute frequency
Mobility (ADA) service will be available weekends from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. by calling (858) 534-7422 to request pick-ups. - Police Department
The Police Department’s front counter will be closed Dec. 25-26, 2023, and Jan. 1-2, 2024. The Police Department’s public safety operations will continue, 24/7, during the closure and can be reached by dialing 9-1-1 in an emergency or (858) 534-4357 for non-emergency services.
- Utilities & Sustainability
The Central Utilities Plant will be staffed and remain operational for the duration of the closure and will be supporting campus emergency and maintenance services at (858) 534-3250.
