CONSTRUCTION ALERT – DERConnect Research Facility: East Campus Central Utilities Plant (ECUP) Access Road Traffic Impact
Project Purpose The primary objective is to build a testbed that allows universities, utilities and industry leaders to achieve a better understanding of how to integrate renewable energy resources into the power grid. The project is driven by the need to decarbonize the electrical grid and the lack of existing large-scale, centralized testing facilities. DERConnect represents one all-inclusive facility that enables testing of novel approaches and algorithms for real-world applications.
Location and Duration: The DER Research Facility will be located in the area north of the East Campus Central Utilities Plant and south of Campus Point Drive.
On Friday, March 03, 2023, asphalt patching of the existing service drive to East Campus Utilities Plant will occur. The work will start at 6:00AM to 4:00PM.
Immediate Parking Lot, Street Traffic, and Pedestrian Impacts: The access road to East Campus Utilities Plant will be closed during the asphalt patching. Flaggers will direct traffic in the area as well as access to the East Campus Central Utilities Plant and CNG Clean Energy Station. Please observe all temporary traffic controls and crewmember instructions, reduce speeds and allow extra space when traveling adjacent to construction activity.
No parking lot, street, or pedestrian and bike lanes will be impacted by this closure.
