UC San Diego Celebrates Women’s Herstory Month
Faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in UC San Diego's Women’s Herstory Month Celebration throughout March. This important observance and celebration of diversity will feature a wide range of programs focused on the many contributions of women in history, culture, and society. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories.”
We hope that you will participate in UC San Diego’s commemoration of Women’s Herstory Month. Our keynote event, “Elevating Activist Stories: Storytelling as a Tool for Social Change,” featuring Renee Bracey Sherman, will take place on Thursday, March 2 at 5 p.m. in the Price Center East Ballroom. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and light refreshments will be served.
For a complete list of Women’s Herstory Month programs and to download a Women’s Herstory Month Zoom background, please visit the UC San Diego Women’s Center website.
In recognition of this annual event, two hours of administrative leave with pay have been approved for employees to attend a UC San Diego Women’s Herstory Month activity. Supervisors, upon request, may approve the use of such leave when the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.
