Spring 2023 Academic Senate Election Results

The results of the spring 2023 election are as follows.
  • Vice Chair (Chair Designate) of the Division for a two-year term, effective September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2025; the first year as Vice Chair and the second year as Chair of the San Diego Division.

  • Divisional Representatives (three vacancies) to the systemwide Assembly of the Academic Senate for a two-year term, effective September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2025.

    Gabriela Caballero, Associate Professor, Linguistics
    Kimberly Cooper, Professor, Cell & Developmental Biology
    Deborah Stein, Associate Professor, Theatre & Dance

  • Divisional Representative (one vacancy) to the systemwide Assembly of the Academic Senate for a one-year term, effective September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024.

    Randolph (Randy) Hampton, Professor, Cell & Developmental Biology

  • Member of the Committee on Committees from an Engineering department for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2026.

    Padmini Rangamani, Professor, Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering

  • Member of the Committee on Committees from a Health Sciences department, excluding the Department of Medicine and the Department of Radiology, for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2026.

    Linda Awdishu, Professor of Clinical Pharmacy, Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences

  • Member of the Committee on Committees from the SIO Faculty for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2026.

    David Stegman, Professor, SIO-IGPP

  • Member of the Committee on Committees from a Social Sciences department for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2026.

    David FitzGerald, Professor, Sociology
The number of valid ballots cast in this election was 481, which represents an 18% turnout of the current Senate membership.
