UC San Diego Condemns Antisemitism

UC San Diego officials were made aware of an abhorrent incident in which antisemitic hate symbols, unsanitary vandalism and destruction of property took place in a residence hall bathroom on campus. We are angered and horrified by this and reaffirm that hate has absolutely no place at UC San Diego. We condemn all forms of racism, intolerance and bigotry. They are simply not acceptable in our community.
This disturbing incident is being actively investigated by campus police, and it is our intention that those involved will be held accountable.
To our Jewish campus community members who were directly exposed to this hateful act, we regret any pain this may have caused. You are valued members of our UC San Diego family, and we are glad you are here.
If anyone has additional information to provide regarding this incident, please contact University Police to make a report. In addition, we encourage reports to be filed with The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination regarding any harassment or discrimination incidents. This situation has been reported.
As a reminder to our community, we uphold the Principles of Community and actively cultivate a diverse, respectful and inclusive campus community committed to the highest standards of civility and decency toward all.
