Project Purpose:
The Price Center West Plaza Renovation is a student-focused project to improve and enhance the customer experience at Price Center through transforming approximately 25,000 SF of the existing plaza. The renovation is an intentional, community building project from University Centers, the student union at UC San Diego.
Location and Duration:
The project site is between Library Walk and Matthews Lane in the Price Center West Plaza. Construction will begin June 19, 2023, with completion targeted prior to November 1, 2023.
Immediate Impacts:
- Construction vehicles will use Matthews Lane resulting in minor delays for pedestrians and vehicles.
- The plaza will be closed including the west stairway and ramp leading from Library Walk to the plaza.
- Pedestrians heading east/west will need to use the sidewalk on the north or south side of Price Center.
- Price Center Theater, Sustainability Resource Center, Triton Box Office, The Zone and Jamba Juice will be closed from June 19, 2023 through mid-September 2023.
- Access to The Bookstore and Amazon will be via the south entrance at Price Center East from June 19, 2023 through mid-September 2023.
- Please observe all temporary traffic controls and crewmember instructions. Please reduce speeds and allow extra space when traveling adjacent to construction activity. See maps of the affected area.
