In 2019, a workgroup was charged to advise the Chancellor, Executive Vice Chancellor, Dean of the Division of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs, and Dean of Undergraduate Education on critical issues related to the experience of people with disabilities at UC San Diego. The workgroup recommended the campus pursue an external review of our infrastructure that serves people with disabilities.
In 2021, UC San Diego initiated an external review of the campus' disability infrastructure in alignment with the workgroup’s recommendations and our commitment to student-centered operational excellence. The review was completed by the Association of Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) and conducted virtually due to the pandemic. A separate external review for UC San Diego Health Sciences, including the School of Medicine and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, is also being conducted.
The purpose of this message is to share the full report with the campus community and provide an update on the current efforts to review and address the recommendations since the completion of the review.
