Timely Warning – Arson

On 06-07-2023 at 4:51 am, the UC San Diego Police Department received a report of an arson that occurred at MTS Bus stop located at Villa La Jolla Drive and the entrance to the VA Hospital. The reporting party stated that there was a small fire inside a container at the bus stop. UCSD Police Officers along with the San Diego Fire Department arrived and extinguished the flames. During the investigation, it appeared as if other items had been set on fire. There is minor discoloration damage to the bus bench.

The suspect is described by a witness as a male without a shirt (no further details).

At this time, the suspect is not in custody.
The report is currently under investigation by the UC San Diego Police Department.
