Project Purpose:
The National Pan-Hellenic Council Plaza is a student plaza engaging the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Divine Nine Sororities and Fraternities. This public realm plaza will feature nine (9) new concrete pillars, signage, hardscape, landscape, tiered retaining walls, lighting, irrigation and modifications to existing infrastructure.
Location and Duration:
The project site is located adjacent to the large grassy mound (“The Hump”) near the Main Gymnasium and Student Center A, just north of Bonner Hall and east of Ridge Walk. Construction will begin July 10, 2023, with completion targeted for September 29, 2023.
Immediate Impacts:
- Construction vehicles will use Muir Lane and come south on Ridge Walk towards the plaza location
- The sidewalk on the south side of the mound which leads to Student Center A will be closed. Pedestrians heading east/west will need to use the sidewalk on the north side of the mound.
Please observe all temporary traffic controls and crewmember instructions. Please reduce speeds and allow extra space when traveling adjacent to construction activity. See map of the affected area.
