As a renowned higher education institution, we are equally committed to the professional development of our people as we are to the academic development of our students.
In support of our continued commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and to help advance our designation as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), UC San Diego’s Campus Human Resources department is now offering Percipio Professional Development Resources in Spanish for UC San Diego employees through the UC Learning Center, including ecourses, books and audiobooks.
Offering this resource to our Spanish-speaking community is important not only to support learning, but also to help develop their leadership skills in a language to which they can connect. Oftentimes language can present a barrier to professional advancement, and we are optimistic that the introduction of this training will open many doors for our Spanish-speaking employees.
Percipio is a digital learning platform that hosts courses, books, videos, and assessments that aid in professional development. Spanish-language content ranges from subtitles on English courses, to full translation of on-screen text, and voiceover from native Spanish speakers. To search for courses in Spanish, employees can type in keywords in the search functionality, such as “liderazgo,” “gerente,” and more.
The introduction of the Percipio Spanish-language training advances the work of the UC San Diego People Proposition, which is our foundational vision and promise for what the experience of working at UC San Diego should be for all people in all roles.
