Initial Review of Applications for Research Relief Funding In Progress

As announced in July, we are now accepting applications for Research Relief Funds. School-level review of requests for Research Relief Funding will begin as applications are received. We strongly encourage those with grants which support UAW-represented personnel and ending in FY 2023-24 to submit requests for funding before the end of August to ensure adequate time for review.
As a reminder, applications will be reviewed first at the school level and then at the Vice Chancellor level. The $10 million Research Relief Fund from the Chancellor and Vice Chancellors is meant to cover salary increases that cannot be covered at the PI, Department, School or Unit level. The application process will remain open until all funds are expended or through June 2025, whichever comes first.
Review the information available at Relief Fund Application and Instructions now to prepare the documents required.
NOTE: Do not use this online application tool, if you are submitting for faculty in schools or departments within Health Sciences. Follow the guidance disseminated by your department. All others should submit an online Research Relief Fund application.
If you have questions or concerns related to the fund, email inquiries to researchrelief@ucsd.edu.
Sincerely,

Corinne Peek-Asa
Vice Chancellor for Research
