The campus will be hosting two events on Sunday, Sept. 24, and Tuesday, Sept. 26, as a part of UC San Diego’s Triton Weeks of Welcome (TWOW) that will have impacts to nearby roads.
Fall Y’all Festival: September 24, 2023
On Sunday, Sept. 24, the Associated Students office of Concerts & Events (ASCE) will be hosting their annual Fall Y’all Festival for our undergraduate students at RIMAC Field. Due to the construction of event infrastructure and additional security measures, Hopkins Drive will be closed from 5 p.m. through 11:59 p.m. on the evening of Sept. 24. During that time, Hopkins Drive will be closed to all automotive, electric vehicle, bike, and pedestrian traffic in both directions between Northpoint Drive after the North Information Booth through to the Supercomputer Center.
Inside Loop service will be detoured after 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24 and some stops will be temporarily closed. Real-time information on routes will be available on the Transloc app (www.transloc.com/app) and by contacting Triton Transit at 858-534-7422.
New Student Welcome Convocation: September 26, 2023
On Tuesday, Sept. 26, the 18th annual New Student Welcome Convocation will be held from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. on RIMAC Field. Due to the construction of event infrastructure and additional security measures, Hopkins Drive will be closed from 1:30 through 8:30 p.m. on September 26. During that time, Hopkins Drive will be closed to all automotive, electric vehicle, bike, and pedestrian traffic between Northpoint Drive after the North Information Booth through to the Supercomputer Center. Rady School of Management Lot P357 and Spanos Loop P359 will be impacted during this time.
Triton Transit Inside Loop and Outside Loop fixed-route service will be detoured the entire day on Tuesday, Sept. 26 and some stops will be temporarily closed. Real-time information on routes will be available on the Transloc app (www.transloc.com/app) and by contacting Triton Transit at 858-534-7422.
Please note that for both events, traffic in and out of Hopkins Parking Structure is subject to delays, as all traffic will be routed towards the Voigt Drive entrance; the ground level entrance to the structure on Hopkins Drive will be closed to all traffic during this time.
