Fall 2023 Parking and Transportation Updates
Campus parking will be especially tight this fall as we await the winter quarter opening of the Theatre District Parking Structure and clear the way for construction of critical student-supporting facilities, including Ridge Walk North Living and Learning Neighborhood and Triton Center.
We encourage commuters to take transit whenever possible. Free or reduced-cost transit options are available for students (U-PASS) and employees (FaSt Pass). When you commute using transit or another lower-impact form of transportation, log your trips with Triton Commuter Club to earn incentives (like discounted parking for the days you really need to drive) and opportunities to win great prizes (like our quarterly e-bike giveaway). If you’re commuting by bike, scooter or skateboard, Parking and Commuter Services and Associated Students have partnered to provide free, high-quality helmets and discounted U-locks to improve the safety and security of your commute. To explore commute options tailored for you, visit our commuter guides for faculty & senior staff, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students. First-year students should review our Transportation Guide for New Tritons.
During fall quarter, most central campus parking for undergraduate commuter students will be limited to carpools. Learn more about how to get access to carpool priority parking when you share the ride. Some areas, like the Hopkins Parking Structure, that have traditionally had commuter student parking for solo drivers will be limited to carpoolers, employees and student residents. We have opened additional parking for undergraduate solo commuters in the new P702 parking lot. Students who want to save on parking can also consider our supersaver lots ($3.25) and discount lots ($4.25).
However you arrive on campus, Triton Transit can help you reach your final destination and move around during the day. View our fall quarter service plan, including improved service to Mesa Graduate Housing and extended hours for the East Campus Connector.
Ongoing updates about parking availability along with weekly summaries showing the best places to find parking by permit type, time of day and day of week will be posted on our website throughout the first two weeks of the quarter. This data will also be used to adjust parking allocations as necessary.
