Winter 2024 Events with the Senate Chair & Vice Chair
Dear Colleagues,
The Academic Senate is the key to representing Senate faculty in the shared governance of the University. As Chair and Vice Chair, we are here to represent the Senate faculty, like you, on issues of importance. There have been unprecedented challenges in the last few years, and we appreciate connecting with our colleagues and hearing about the topics that are of most interest to you. This helps us represent the interests of the faculty, both within the Senate and with the Administration. Below are a few opportunities to connect with us during Winter Quarter:
Winter Quarter Office Hours: Engaging with the Senate Chair and Vice Chair We are scheduling a series of four Winter Quarter Office Hours for Senate members. While these events provide an opportunity for us to share updates on current Divisional Senate initiatives, the main goal is to provide an opportunity to hear from you about your priorities and concerns. Each Office Hour focuses on a different area of campus. We encourage you to attend the session scheduled for your discipline, but all Senate members are welcome to attend any (or all) of the sessions.
The Office Hours are held on Zoom. The schedule and registration links are below. The meeting link will be e-mailed to participants following registration.
Lunch at the Faculty Club We will be hosting lunch on Wednesday, February 7 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Faculty Club. We invite you for informal discussion during the lunch hour. Please sign up and join us!
Faculty Club Happy Hour We plan to join the Faculty Club Happy Hour from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 8. Drop in and join us! There is no need for advanced notice. Note: The January 18 date shared at the beginning of the year was changed to February 8.
