The Undergraduate Research Hub (URH) invites your nomination of outstanding undergraduate students to present at the Annual Undergraduate Research Conference (URC), to be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ida and Cecil Green Faculty Club. The deadline to nominate up to three presenters is Friday, Feb. 16, 2024.
This year marks our 37th anniversary of celebrating intellectual excellence at the URC. We are grateful for the role you play in sustaining and enriching the only campus-wide conference to recognize undergraduate scholars in all fields and providing them the opportunity to present their research findings at roundtables moderated by an expert in their discipline. It is thanks to your participation that the URC is one of UC San Diego’s most prestigious academic events for undergraduates. In turn, our students greatly appreciate the opportunity to be recognized by their peers, mentors, family, and friends.
The URC supports the scholarly and creative accomplishments of UC San Diego students and encourages them to pursue even more opportunities to engage in meaningful research activities at the undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, and even professional level. To participate in the URC, students must be nominated by a UC San Diego faculty member. Student presenters will share the results of their research and respond to questions and comments from their session’s moderator and guests.
To nominate students for this year’s URC, please complete the following online form by Friday, Feb. 16, 2024 and inform your student(s) of the nomination. The URH will then reach out to the student(s) with further instructions: forms.gle/BxiFqiNQiF1Arr8p9
In addition, we hope you will consider serving as a roundtable moderator at the event. You may be a moderator even if you have not nominated a student. If you would like to serve as a moderator, please register on this form by Friday, March 29, 2024: na.eventscloud.com/URC2024
Your nomination of undergraduate presenters and/or participation in this uniquely inclusive scholastic event provides vital support to the prestige of undergraduate research at UC San Diego. We appreciate your encouragement of this valuable program.
If you have any questions regarding the conference, please contact David Artis, Dean of Undergraduate Research Advancement, at dartis@ucsd.edu.
