Celebrating National Transfer Student Week at UC San Diego

UC San Diego is excited to celebrate the talent, resilience and diversity of our current and future Triton Transfers during National Transfer Student Week (NTSW).

This annual celebration takes place the third week of October and commemorates transfer students and the community of faculty and staff who support them and champion the transfer student experience. This year, we honor the 8,447 talented and accomplished students who began their journey at other colleges and universities before transferring to UC San Diego and joining our vibrant Triton community. Our Triton Transfers enrich our campus community through their unique experiences, talents and accomplishments, and are valued members of our university.

From October 21-25, we encourage students, faculty and staff to participate in transfer-centered events, programs and services focused on connecting transfer students to resources and to one another.

Key Events

National Transfer Student Week Celebration and Resource Fair
Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 1 – 3 p.m. on Sun God Lawn

Join more than 40 campus departments, colleges, resource centers and more to see what opportunities UC San Diego has for our Triton Transfers.

Triton Champion Training – offered for UC San Diego Faculty and Staff Friday, Oct. 25, from 10 – 11 a.m. in the Dolores Huerta Room

In celebration of National Transfer Student Week, we invite UC San Diego faculty and staff to learn about best practices for supporting transfer students. There will be a presentation and coffee and pastries to enjoy.

Transfer Student Resources

Established in 2019, the Triton Transfer Hub ensures the academic, social and professional success of our Triton Transfers. Working collaboratively with key campus partners, this resource has vastly expanded over the past five years to center and uplift transfer student success. The Triton Transfer Hub team provides resources, services and programs to empower Triton Transfers to achieve their goals as they navigate UC San Diego's academic and cultural landscape. The team also readily assists transfer students so they can thrive academically, professionally and personally. Triton Transfer Hub staff offer articles, trainings and presentation support to enrich campus knowledge on the transfer student experience.
