CONSTRUCTION ALERT - SIO Automatic Load Shed System

Project Purpose:  Trenching and installation of underground electrical duct bank. The project will enable communications between the SIO and Revelle Switching Stations to improve data and network connectivity in the campus power system.

Location and Duration:  Construction will start on SIO Automatic Load Shed System on October 15th. Downwind Way, from intersection with Expedition Way down to La Jolla Shores, project completion is anticipated to be November 11th, 2024.

Immediate Parking Lot, Street Traffic, and Pedestrian Impacts:

  • Please be aware that one lane on Downwind Way will be closed during the work hours of 7:00am to 3:30pm. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and exercise caution when traveling in the area.

Please observe all temporary traffic controls and crewmember instructions. Please reduce speeds and allow extra space when traveling adjacent to construction activity. See a map of the affected area.
