ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UC SAN DIEGO, INCLUDING UC SAN DIEGO HEALTH

Open Enrollment Begins Today

Open Enrollment, your once-a-year opportunity to review and select benefit offerings at UC San Diego, begins today, October 31 at 8 a.m. PDT, and ends on Friday, November 22 at 5 p.m. PST.

Please do not wait until the last minute to make your selections or ask questions. Ensure you allocate enough time to make the best choices for you and your loved ones. Enroll for benefits through the UCPath portal here.

As announced in last week’s Open Enrollment campus notice, there will be an increase to employee medical plan costs in 2025. The premiums can be viewed on UCnet here.

The following resources will be available to help you make informed decisions:

  • Vendor partner presentations: Representatives will be available to answer questions after each vendor partner presentation on Friday, November 15. The presentation schedule is available on Blink.
  • HHR on-site visits: The Health HR Benefit Services team will visit multiple locations in the system during Open Enrollment to answer questions in person. More information is available on Pulse.
  • Open Enrollment office hours: You can attend a virtual office hours session to learn more and have your questions answered. The office hours schedule is available on Blink.

Open Enrollment is also the time for you to enroll or re-enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) if you want to continue your Health FSA for healthcare expenses for you and your family members, or Dependent Care FSA for childcare or eldercare expenses in 2025. Re-enrollment is not automatic for these plans. If you would like to enroll for one of these plans, you will need to make your new annual election during Open Enrollment.

Additional Considerations

UC San Diego Health knows there is nothing more important than good health. That’s why our goal is to provide UC San Diego employees and their families with the best health care at convenient locations. We’ve expanded our network of primary care locations to the neighborhoods where you live and work. When you choose a primary care provider within the UC San Diego Health network, you have access to world-class specialty services and state-of-the-art facilities, including three hospitals. You also have convenient same-day options, including Urgent Care, Express Care, and video visits.

UC San Diego Health is proud to be repeatedly ranked #1 in San Diego and named to the Best Hospitals National Honor Roll by U.S. News & World Report. Eleven of our specialty care programs are also named among the top 50 in the nation. For more information on our network of locations and physicians near you, please visit health.ucsd.edu/choose.

UC San Diego Health Specialty Pharmacy Services provides medication care for complex conditions, offering great value and optimal care for our valued employees. Our conveniently located specialty pharmacies in Kearny Mesa and La Jolla offer home delivery at no extra cost. Our expert pharmacists connect directly with UC San Diego Health physicians through the electronic medical record (EMR), which makes your care quicker and safer. Our specialty pharmacies have more than a decade of service to patients with unique conditions and are dual accredited with the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) and The Joint Commission.

We work directly with your UC San Diego Health physician, and use the EMR to confirm that your care is the most effective, safe and accurate option available at the lowest possible cost. Using a UC San Diego Health specialty pharmacy can also reduce your out-of-pocket costs, allowing you to receive a 90-day supply of chronic medications for a reduced co-pay. We also offer customized pharmacy services for patients with complex diseases who need extra support.

Important Reminders

Once you have decided which benefit choices are right for you and your family, access the UCPath Portal to update your enrollment for 2025. We encourage you to learn more by visiting the UC Open Enrollment website.
