ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF, AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

We are excited to announce the recipients of the 2024 Summer Graduate Teaching Scholars (SGTS) and Mentorship Awards! Through the SGTS program, 61 advanced graduate students received training from the Teaching and Learning Commons and taught courses as instructors of record in Summer 2024, with close support from a dedicated faculty mentor. From this extremely impressive group, five outstanding scholars and five exceptional mentors were selected to receive these awards for their exemplary contributions to teaching and mentorship.

Outstanding Scholars:

These scholars stood out for their deep engagement with course material, their thoughtful and effective teaching practices, and their ability to leverage available resources to enhance the learning experience. Through active participation in the SGTS community and continuous personal growth as educators, they have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence in teaching.

Outstanding Mentors:

These mentors were selected for their meaningful and impactful guidance, as demonstrated through both their mentees' feedback and their own reflections. Their involvement and dedication played a vital role in supporting their mentees' growth throughout the SGTS program.

With the SGTS Committee, we congratulate these exceptional individuals and extend our appreciation for their dedication to excellence in teaching and mentorship.
