CONSTRUCTION ALERT - 5583 Computer Science & Engineering Renovation

Construction is poised to start in early December and run until Winter 2026.

Project Location/Description:

This interior renovation will create a new server room at the basement of the Computer Science and Engineering building, increasing the facility's computing capacity. The new server room will have additional cooling capacity needed to support current research and new artificial intelligence technology. The first floor server room will be converted to office space, as well as informal collaborative space, featuring soft seating and café tables. This is needed to support the growing student population at CSE.

Immediate Parking Lot, Street Traffic, and Pedestrian Impacts:

A dumpster will be located at the exterior service yard, and temporary fencing will be placed at the entry stair on the southeast side of the building. The east basement stair will be temporarily closed, however the east stair and ramp to the first floor will remain open.
