Join us for our third annual Celebration of Cultures at the Epstein Family Amphitheater on Wednesday, December 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and experience the vibrant tapestry of cultures embodied by the Triton community through delicious multicultural food, performances, and more.
Tasting samples of Peruvian, Mexican, BBQ Soul, Lao, Mediterranean, and more will be provided to the first 1,000 UC San Diego employees who reserve their e-ticket online via Blink. Tickets will be available as of noon on Tuesday, Nov. 12, on a first-come, first-served basis. Those unable to register among the first 1,000 entries with food can still enjoy the festivities by registering for the Bring Your Own Food e-tickets. In addition to food, cultural dance and musical performances, the event will feature opportunity drawings and more.
The event theme, “I Am UC San Diego,” is centered around recognizing that, while we bring unique perspectives and diverse backgrounds as individuals, we are also united as a Triton community.
Tickets are required for all staff and academic employees attending the event. Staff and academic employees will need to reserve and download an e-ticket to their mobile device via Eventbrite through Blink and show their UC San Diego ID to receive lunch and attend the event activities. Quantities are limited and typically sell out, so be sure to reserve your ticket as soon as they become available. To request your e-ticket, visit the Celebration of Cultures event webpage.
Two hours of administrative leave with pay have been approved for employees to attend the event. People Leaders, upon request, may approve the use of such leave when the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.
The Epstein Family Amphitheater is in the Pepper Canyon Neighborhood at UC San Diego. The event entrance is located off of Russell Lane and Rupertus Lane (West entrance closest to Visual Arts Center). Please note, this is the only entrance open for the Celebration of Cultures.
We would like to thank all of the vice chancellor areas and event partners, including the Vice Chancellor Operations Management and Capital Programs (OMCP); Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action (IDEA) Task Group; Campus Human Resources; UC San Diego Staff Association; Black Staff Association; Chicanx/Latinx Staff Association; Arab American Association; and Pan Asian Staff Association for their support.
All Tritons are invited to share stories, strengths and personal attributes that connect them to UC San Diego using the hashtag, #IAmUCSanDiego.
