******UPDATE to Community Alert Bulletin – Avoid the Area of 9600 Block of Black Gold Road*****

The San Diego Police Department responded and determined the item to be a BB gun and there is no threat to the community.  

The area has been cleared to resume normal activity.

Please do not call Police Dispatch with questions.

ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT: COMMUNITY ALERT -  AVOID THE AREA of 9600 BLACK GOLD ROAD

The San Diego Police Department is responding to a call of a male shooting a rifle from a westward facing balcony.   It is unknown if the rifle is a real rifle, pellet or bb gun.

Please avoid these area of 9600 Black Gold Road until further notice. The community will be notified as soon as access has been restored.
