The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion invites you to a winter quarter event, as part of the Equity in Mental Health series for the 2023-24 academic year. The series will continue to focus on training that includes education, tools, and strategies to promote health and well-being at UC San Diego.
The session entitled, Wellness as Community Practice and Rest as Resistance, will occur on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Price Center East Ballroom. Food and beverages will be served beginning at 9 a.m. While this event is open to all, the focus is on training for staff and faculty.
The event will feature Izzy Narvaez, Assistant Director of Equity and Inclusion Education and Training at the Cross-Cultural Center. This event is free and requires registration. You may register by clicking here.
We hope you will join us for this upcoming session that will explore wellness and rest from an intersectional and social justice perspective. The session will include how community connections, a deep sense of belonging and a well-developed support system can be a critical way to access wellness and rest. You can listen to a sneak preview of the content on our Equity in Mental Health podcast series webpage, along with other recent podcast episodes.
We look forward to seeing you for this time of community practice to identify and acknowledge our human need to rest, and navigate those needs through a collectivist lens.
