Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in UC San Diego's Women’s History Month Celebration throughout the month of March. This important observance and celebration of diversity will feature a range of programs focused on the many contributions of women in history, culture and society. This year’s theme is “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion,” and provides an opportunity to highlight the local, regional and global impacts of women – particularly those who have worked tirelessly toward eliminating bias and discrimination. By participating in these events, we celebrate and learn from the experiences and achievements of women and work toward cultivating a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
We hope that you will participate in UC San Diego’s commemoration of Women’s History Month. We invite you to attend the kickoff event from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, March 1 at the Stage Room located in the Original Student Center. The first 40 attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an artist guided painting session. For a complete list of Women’s History Month programs, please visit the events calendar.
In recognition of this annual event, two hours of administrative leave with pay have been approved for employees to attend UC San Diego Women’s History Month activities. Supervisors, upon request, may approve the use of such leave when the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.
