Timely Warning – Arson

On March 21, 2024, at about 5:15 p.m., the UC San Diego Police Department responded to a fire alarm at the Ridge Walk Academic Building. Upon arrival, officers located a burnt trash receptacle inside a restroom in the building. The fire appears to be intentional.
  • There is no suspect information at this time.
  • The report is currently under investigation by the UC San Diego Police Department.

  • Report suspicious activity (including the use of open flame) on and around the open lands, hillsides, canyons and trails anywhere on campus or in the SIO area to the UC San Diego Police Department immediately by calling 9-1-1.
  • Call the UC San Diego Police Department if you become aware of someone talking about or planning an arson.
