The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is now accepting applications for the 2023-24 Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo. The Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is seeking applications for the program, which aims to increase representation in leadership roles by preparing senior administrators at colleges and universities for top leadership positions at Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), emerging HSIs, and other institutions.
The year-long fellowship program includes webinars and three in-person seminars. The first seminar will be held in Aurora, Colorado in late October and early November of 2024, in conjunction with HACU’s Annual Conference. The second seminar will be held in the spring of 2025 in Washington, D.C., in conjunction with HACU’s National Capitol Forum on Hispanic Higher Education. The third seminar will be held in the summer of 2025, as part of the international component (location to be determined).
If you would like to be considered for this opportunity, please complete the application by midnight on April 8, 2024. Applications will be reviewed by a subcommittee of the Hispanic Serving Institution/Latinx Chicanx Academic Excellence (HSI/LAEI) Work Group, and a short list of applicants will be recommended to Chancellor Pradeep Khosla and Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Becky Petitt for final selection.
The University will cover the cost of the registration fees for the applicant(s) selected for the program; the participant and/or participant’s home department is responsible for travel costs associated with the program. Individuals should work with their department leadership to ensure they support their application and understand associated costs.
Sincerely,
