The individual with the knife was located by UC San Diego Police officers a short distance off campus and was taken into custody without incident.

Timely Warning – Weapons Law Violation
On March 27, 2024 at 0908 hours, the UC San Diego Police Department received a report of a weapons law violation that had just occurred near Africa Hall in the Eleanor Roosevelt residential area. The reporting party stated that a male was seen walking in the area while talking to himself and waving a knife around. There were no reports that the male threatened anyone with the knife.
- The suspect is described by reporting party as a male, 30-35 years old, slim build, blond hair wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black shirt and orange gloves. He may also be carrying a soccer ball.
- At this time, the suspect is not in custody.
- The report is currently under investigation by the UC San Diego Police Department.
