We are writing to inform you that a student organization has announced that a demonstration will take place on UC San Diego’s campus on Wednesday afternoon, March 6, near the areas of Sun God Lawn and Library Walk.
Because there may be a large number of people in attendance, please consider avoiding the area and taking alternative routes. Employee supervisors and faculty are reminded that they can consider remote operations in accordance with their usual protocol.
Beyond those in our community, a large number of non-campus affiliates may also be present. In order to maintain peace and safety, a larger-than-usual security presence will be onsite.
In addition to increased security, safety escorts will be available beginning at 3 p.m. To request a safety escort call (858) 534-9255, or extension 4-WALK from a campus phone.
UC San Diego unequivocally condemns antisemitism, Islamophobia and all forms of hate. As a public university, UC San Diego is required to allow access to campus and support everyone’s right to constitutionally protected
free speech.
We expect and encourage everyone to exercise their constitutional rights respectfully and peacefully. Violations of the law and university policy will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent.
We call upon all Tritons, visitors and other community members to reaffirm our commitment to embody
UC San Diego’s Principles of Community in our words, actions and how we treat one another.
