As campus begins spring quarter, Parking & Commuter Services is excited to unveil 277 new or modernized EV charging stations on the UC San Diego campus. By May 1, 2024, you can expect new EV charging stations at the following locations:
- Athena Parking Structure: 39 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- South Parking Structure: 38 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- Scholars Parking Structure: 34 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- Mesa Canyon Parking Structure: 20 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- First Avenue Parking Structure: 30 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- Campus Point East: 4 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- Campus Point West: 5 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- P357: 10 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- Torrey Pines Center South: 10 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- Mesa Nueva Parking Structure: 5 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- P007: 10 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- P001: 10 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- Marine Conservation Technology Facility: 4 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- Campus Services Complex: 28 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- Trade Street Warehouse: 10 PowerFlex Level II chargers
- La Jolla Innovation Center: 20 PowerFlex Level II chargers
This update modernizes 163 legacy charging ports and adds 114 new ports, while expanding use of Adaptive Load Management technology that provides full level two charging while reducing the need to relocate vehicles mid-day.
This is just the beginning of our EV charging expansion. By fall quarter 2024, we expect to open an additional 99 Level II chargers in the new Theatre District Parking Structure, 10 new Level II chargers in the Hopkins Parking Structure, 4 new 50kw DC Fast Chargers in the Pangea Parking Structure, and 6 new 100kW DC Fast Chargers at the Scholars Parking Structure.
To support charger maintenance, cover electrical costs, and continue our EV charging network expansion, campus EV charging rates will change effective April 15, 2024. New rates are as follows.
