Spring 2024 Academic Senate Election Results

Dear Colleagues:

The results of the spring 2024 election are as follows.
  • Vice Chair (Chair Designate) of the Division for a two-year term, effective September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2026; the first year as Vice Chair and the second year as Chair of the San Diego Division.

    Rebecca Jo Plant, Professor, History
  • Divisional Representatives (two vacancies) to the systemwide Assembly of the Academic Senate for a two-year term, effective September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2026.

    Marianna Alperin, Professor, Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences
    Julia Ortony, Associate Professor, Chemistry & Biochemistry

  • Member of the Committee on Committees from an Arts department for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2027.

    Teddy Cruz, Professor, Visual Arts
  • Member of the Committee on Committees from a Health Sciences department, excluding the Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, for a one-year term, effective September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2025.

    Sheila Mody, Professor of Clinical Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences
  • Member of the Committee on Committees from a Health Sciences department, excluding the Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2027.

The number of valid ballots cast in this election was 531, which represents an 19.6% turnout of the current Senate membership.
