As one of the top universities in the world, UC San Diego continues to expand and flourish at a rapid pace. Our refreshed strategic plan calls for the campus to be a destination for students, faculty, staff, patients, and the community.
In this context, we are pleased to create a new organization that will integrate key amenities and services in support of our campus community. Effective July 1, 2024, Residential, Retail and Supply Chain Services (RRSS) will unite these units: Housing, Dining and Hospitality (HDH); Integrated Procure-to-Pay Solutions (IPPS); the UC San Diego Bookstore; Triton Print & Digital Media; and the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). RRSS will report to Associate Vice Chancellor Hemlata Jhaveri.
This new integration will build on the momentum of these service-oriented units. HDH has expanded tremendously to better support the residential population of now well over 20,000 students, and is poised to become the largest residential campus in the United States. IPPS is an industry leader in supply chain integration, and continues to innovate to serve our growing research and student population. The Bookstore is continuously adapting to meet the ever-changing retail landscape and to reflect our growing campus spirit. Triton Print & Digital Media is now outfitted to offer campus more value-added services. Our Early Childhood Education Center is providing sought-after, high-quality care and education for the children of the UC San Diego community.
This alignment will allow these five talented units to unlock synergies and find even more ways to activate the campus and to meet the needs of our diverse community.
