Inaugural Chancellor’s Interdisciplinary Team Catalyst Fund Awardees Announced

We are pleased to announce that five exceptional teams are the first to receive awards from the Chancellor’s Interdisciplinary Team Catalyst Fund. This fund, designed to ignite and support forward-thinking research teams, has made its debut by selecting standout projects from a pool of impressive campus proposals.

The Catalyst Fund supports multidisciplinary collaborations, advances innovative research and paves the way for long-term funding strategies. By providing internal support for early-stage planning, team building and strategic development, the fund is set to address pressing societal challenges through cooperative, cross-disciplinary efforts.

In this inaugural year, Research Development managed a robust internal competition on behalf of the Office of Research and Innovation. A total of 45 inquiries were received, culminating in five awards of up to $75,000.

The awarded projects exemplify the program's goals by demonstrating strong scholarly and societal impact, integrating diverse expertise and presenting well-defined action plans. These projects are not only poised to address critical issues, but also show promising pathways to securing future external support.
