The Division of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs (GEPA) is pleased to announce the launch of the Postdocs Career Advancement and Navigation (CAN) program. Postdocs CAN replaces our former EPIC Bootcamp program and is designed to help postdoctoral scholars make the most of their training experience at UCSD and succeed in their future career. Through this program, postdocs will connect to academic and co-curricular resources, programs, and opportunities on and off campus, develop a training plan for their career progression (i.e. Individual Development Plan), and identify best practices for a successful research experience and career transition.
We encourage all postdocs to participate in the CAN program and hope faculty mentors will support their participation. Interested postdocs may register for the upcoming session in the UC Learning Center. The $75 registration fee is only payable by recharge and covers all course instruction, materials and assessments. Mentors may cover this fee from a research allowance on fellowships/training grants, research grants, departmental unrestricted funds, gifts, or other appropriate funding sources. Faculty who have questions about the potential impact of the CAN curriculum on their postdoctoral scholar’s training at UC San Diego are encouraged to contact Jennifer Bourque, director of the Office of Postdoctoral Scholar Affairs at jbourque@ucsd.edu.
