Triton Transit Route and Stop Adjustments (Effective Sunday, September 8)
Mesa Loop
The current Mesa South route will be replaced with the Mesa Loop route, which was successfully piloted in late August 2024. The new route avoids pedestrian, micromobility and vehicular conflicts in Mandeville Loop while expanding access to the new UC San Diego Extension building at 8980 Villa La Jolla Drive and directly serving more of our biomedical facilities. The route maintains important connections to the campus Inside Loop, Outside Loop and SIO routes as well as connections to MTS and NCTD lines.
Inside Loop and Outside Loop
With Scholars Drive South reopened, stops will be returned to Eighth College/Theatre District and Revelle College.
The Warren College stops will be relocated further west adjacent to Franklin Antonio and Atkinson halls to improve connectivity to the Hopkins Parking Structure.
The bus stop serving Seventh College (West) will be relocated south, just past the new raised crosswalk, to improve pedestrian and rider safety.
Grocery Shuttle – Convoy
The bus stop within the parking lot at South Mesa will be removed, and riders can board the Grocery Shuttle at the Central Mesa stop to the east.
Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) Shuttle
The SIO Shuttle route will be adding stops serving the new UC San Diego Extension building at 8980 Villa La Jolla Drive. With Scholars Drive South reopened, stops will be returned at Eighth College/Theatre District (North), and Revelle College (West) stops.
