Although there is no imminent wildfire threat to the UC San Diego campus, the Emergency Operations Center is actively monitoring the situation and staying informed about weather conditions, air quality and any nearby fires. In additional to the fires in Los Angeles County, we are monitoring small fires that started in Orange, Riverside and one in northern San Diego County. These fires are extinguished or contained at this time. If conditions change, we will promptly notify the campus community of any necessary action to support public safety.
The UC San Diego EOC has been activated to Level 4 (Situational Awareness Safety Center staffing) to monitor Santa Ana conditions in San Diego County and the wildland fires outside of San Diego County.
UC San Diego is conducting business as usual. UC San Diego campus and UC San Diego Health System are operating normally with no disruption to classes or services. Our EOC is in contact with UCLA Emergency Management and communicated we are prepared and ready to provide assistance, if requested.
